This position is expected to begin in Summer 2026. This internship will provide exposure to a wide range of activities relating to traffic engineering.

Requirements

  • Must be pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or another related field.
  • Must have completed two years of qualified study.
  • Due to the nature of the work, U.S. Citizenship is required for this position.

Nice To Haves

  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft 360 Software (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct traffic engineering calculations and design under the supervision of an experienced traffic engineer.
  • Create designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings, and final working drawings for traffic engineering projects under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
  • Collect and analyze data under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
  • Use computer software as a tool for solving basic engineering problems.
  • Work with design software such as AutoCAD, MicroStation, SignCAD, Synchro, CENTRACS, and other applicable programs.
  • Work with microsimulation software such as VISSIM and Synchro or TransModeler to create traffic models and simulations.
