The Traffic Operations Director oversees the City's traffic system and part of the transportation system, focusing on planning, operations, and maintenance to ensure safety, efficiency, and innovation. This role includes managing improvement projects, daily operations, and grant-funded initiatives, working closely with the Associate Traffic Engineer. The Director supervises staff, consultants, and contractors while addressing citizen concerns and prioritizing work assignments. The Director directly supervises the Associate Traffic Engineer and two foremen and indirectly manages up to 9 electricians, signal technicians, and sign & traffic operators. Reporting to the Public Works Division Manager, the position requires strong leadership and communication skills to effectively manage the traffic operations team and collaborate with various stakeholders.
