Position summary: Responsible for traffic engineering and smart mobility design using knowledge of general engineering principles and practices to interpret, organize, execute and coordinate assignments. This job involves a strong mix of electrical, civil, and systems engineering principles. Immigration sponsorship or support (e.g. H1B, F-1 CPT/OPT/STEM OPT) is not available for this position, except for qualified candidates eligible for the TN visa classification.

Requirements

  • Must be able to write a grammatically correct professional memo without using AI assistance
  • An ability to communicate clearly and professionally in written and spoken form with a variety of clients across the Southeastern US
  • An interest in traffic signals and related technology
  • Courage and a love of adventure
  • Must successfully complete and pass JMT's Motor Vehicle screening
  • Bachelor’s degree in civil, electrical, industrial, mechanical or systems engineering from an ABET accredited engineering program
  • 0-5 years of experience in civil, electrical, or systems engineering
  • Current US state driver’s license and an ability to drive

Nice To Haves

  • Engineer-in-training certification
  • Traffic or traffic signal experience
  • IT, telecom, or AI experience
  • Ability to code and script using current languages and a strong foundation in logic-based systems
  • Networking competency, including TCP/IP topology, routing/switching, & related troubleshooting
  • Secondary written and spoken language fluency is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Assist with traffic signal design, including CAD and field work
  • Assist with traffic signal corridor retiming, including field work, implementation, and fine-tuning
  • Assist with design computations and plan preparations
  • Assist in designing projects in accordance with client specifications and guidelines, using design software and drawing tools
  • Assist with developing the project quantities for construction cost estimate.
  • Assist in the preparation of engineering documents for advertisement and construction
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
