Traffic Design Engineer
About The Position
PRIME AE Group, Inc. seeks a Traffic Design Engineer in Baltimore, MD.Duties: Assist with traffic analysis and design of transportation projects. Design signing, pavement markings, traffic control signals, temporary traffic control devices and lighting. Complete traffic engineering studies, traffic analyses and modeling, and transportation management plans (TMP). Evaluate traffic operations, signal timing, signal phasing, coordination, safety, congestion, bicycle and pedestrian needs for intersections and corridors. Assist with the development of preliminary design through construction documents, cost estimates, and specifications development.
Requirements
- Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering, or a related field (or its equivalent)
- Experience in the design of traffic control devices including signing, pavement markings, traffic control signals.
- Familiarity with AASHTO, MUTCD, Highway Capacity Manual, Highway Safety Manual and ADA regulations.
- Basic understanding of traffic modeling including Synchro/Sim Traffic, CORSIM, and HCS.
- Analyze complex traffic issues and alternates and prepare cogent recommendations.
- Proficiency in MicroStation and/or AutoCAD.
- Requires travel to local sites within 50 miles of worksite address.
- Requires an EIT certification.
- Must also have authority to work permanently in the U.S.
