About The Position

The Traffic Control position involves directing vehicular and pedestrian traffic around a work site.

Safety Expectations: All Suit-Kote employees are required to comply with all safety rules and to observe safe work practices and operating procedures at all times. Whenever on Suit-Kote property or job sites, or operating Suit- Kote equipment, employees are expected to conduct themselves in a manner that promotes the safety of the employee, co-workers and others.

Responsibilities/Job Duties: Set up and tear down traffic control devices Flagging traffic Maintain a safe area for the motoring public, pedestrians and coworkers in and around the work zone

Position is considered full time, but seasonal in nature, with anticipated lay-off in the November thru April time-frame. Site specific locations may have varying seasonal requirements that can extend or contract these timeframes.

Requirements

• Reliable transportation to and from work site
• Strong work ethic
• Strong math skills
• Physical
• Organization and time management
• A CDL license is a plus
• Flexibility in hours - overtime and weekend hours may be necessary
• Passing a pre-employment drug and alcohol screening is required and a background check will be conducted
• Consent to a DMV license evaluation
• Must have or be willing to obtain an OSHA 10 Hour Safety Certificate and ATSSA Flagger Training Certification
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds
• Observe and comply with necessary PPE requirements
• Must be able to work in a noisy area with many odors present
• Bending, stretching, stooping, kneeling, crawling and squatting

Nice To Haves

• Ability to read and understand SDS
• Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office)
• High school diploma or GED - a two year technical degree
• Basic math
