About The Position

As a Protector at AWP Safety, America’s leading traffic management company, you will work with a team at job sites to ensure safety. No prior experience or degree is required as comprehensive training is provided. The role involves setting up and taking down traffic control equipment, guiding traffic with a stop/slow paddle, monitoring traffic and job site activity, and adhering to all safety rules. You will communicate with your crew and supervisor, help maintain clean and safe vehicles and equipment, and work outdoors in all weather conditions throughout the year. Shifts may vary, including nights, weekends, or emergency work, and require standing or walking for 8 to 12 hours per shift. AWP Safety provides essential safety gear, but you must bring your own steel-toe safety boots.

Requirements

• Valid driver’s license
• Able to stand, walk, and work outside for long periods
• Able to lift 40–50 pounds
• Willing to work in traffic and changing weather
• Flexible schedule; Show up on time, every shift
• Must pass pre-hire screening, including a drug test (this is a safety sensitive job)
• Stay alert around moving traffic and follow all safety rules all the time
• Treat coworkers, clients, and the public with respect

Responsibilities

• Setting up cones, signs, and barricades and taking traffic control equipment down
• Using a stop/slow paddle to guide traffic, watching traffic and job site activity
• Following all safety rules taught in training
• Communicating with your crew and supervisor
• Helping keep vehicles and equipment clean and safe
• Working outside all year, in all weather
