About The Position

The Traffic Control Flagger is responsible for maintaining a safe work zone by managing traffic around construction sites. This role involves setting up temporary traffic control devices, communicating with drivers, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations. The position requires outdoor work in various weather conditions and may involve overtime, weekends, and holidays.

Requirements

• Work experience with traffic flagging.
• Knowledge of the traffic control industry with prior traffic control or road construction experience.
• Excellent attendance required, dependable transportation, good work ethic.
• Maintain a valid driver’s license and safe driving record.
• Successfully pass a background/drug screen and meet Federal DOT requirements.
• Awareness of the occupational hazards associated with roadway work.
• Ability to perform tasks individually when required.
• General maintenance and repair to work-related equipment and vehicle.
• Must be able to stand for long periods of time.

Nice To Haves

• Certification (from ATSSA) as a Flagger is preferred.
• Flagger: 1 year of experience (Preferred)

Responsibilities

• Position temporary work zones utilizing warning signs, traffic cones, barrels, etc. per Nevada DOT regulatory requirements and standards.
• Safely manage traffic through active work zones while standing, grasping a stop/slow paddle, and utilizing radio communication.
• Work outdoors in various weather conditions; work overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed and required for the position.
• Follow all safety rules and regulations and wear proper safety equipment.
• Adhere to all Company Policies and Procedures.
• Communicate effectively with contractor employees, co-workers, and supervisors.
• Complete daily paperwork accurately.
• Work well in a team environment.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.
