About The Position

Susquehanna is seeking a Mid to Senior level Software Engineer to join our Options Trading desk. This role is uniquely positioned at the intersection of quant studies and trading, requiring tight coupling and collaboration between these domains. As a pivotal figure in the development and evolution of a highly impactful production trading system, the engineer will also act as a cross-functional leader among the core development/engineering team, bridging various aspects of quantitative analysis and trading practices.

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience in software development (C# or Java) with at least 3+ years of experience in backend systems level development in Python
• Experience building high throughput and performance demanding applications/systems
• Strong verbal communication skills and the ability to deal effectively with both technical and non-technical teams
• Eagerness to learn about both the business and technology aspects of trading
• Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related discipline.

Responsibilities

• Develop and enhance a proprietary, in-house platform designed for production signal development, focusing on user-friendly and future-compatible design.
• Work alongside traders and quants to develop performant, high-throughput systems and tooling, leveraging market data to inform trading decisions.
• Influence and lead across various domains within the engineering team, fostering interdisciplinary collaboration and strategic alignment.
• Drive innovation by contributing to the technical vision and strategy, and mentor team members across different functional areas.
• Design, develop, and implement client/server applications in a performance-sensitive trading environment, using Python and C# as primary development languages.
