About The Position

Bentley University seeks to fill a joint position as Lecturer of Finance, and Director of the Trading Room for academic year 2025-2026, to begin Fall 2025. The Director reports to the Chair of the Finance Department and the Sr. Associate Dean of Business. The Trading Room is the centerpiece of The Hughey Center for Financial Services (HCFS), named in honor of Bentley University alumnus David A. Hughey '55. The center was established in 1997 and has earned a national reputation, focusing on innovative classroom pedagogy, cutting-edge financial research, and real-world applications.

Requirements

  • Graduate degree in finance or a related discipline.
  • Previous work experience in a trading room environment as a trader or in a managerial capacity at a financial services company.
  • Ability to teach trading concepts and design trading courses.
  • Experience with securities valuation and developing trading rules using Excel.
  • Proficiency with Bloomberg Terminal, including building Excel-based valuation models using Bloomberg API, Visual Basic, Pivot, Vlookups, macro, and goal-seeking.
  • Familiarity with FactSet, Morningstar Direct, and CapIQ.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (writing and oral).

  • Experience in teaching finance courses.
  • Experience with guest speaker recruitment and event management.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise payroll and staff hiring/training for the Trading Room.
  • Schedule events and prepare/forecast budgets.
  • Maintain liaison with vendors and manage purchasing.
  • Work on social media feeds and websites for the Trading Room.
  • Collaborate with the Academic Technology Center to identify technology and software needs.
  • Liaise with guest speakers, visitors, corporate guests, senior administrators, and trustees.
  • Recruit guest speakers for Fireside Chats events.
  • Develop and market executive training programs and Wall Street 101 programming.
  • Teach FOUR courses per year, focusing on introductory and upper-level finance courses.
