About The Position

The Trading Assistant position is a full-time role based in Little Rock, AR. The primary responsibilities include maintaining daily assigned inventories, researching trade/system problems, creating managed deals in Ipreo and Bloomberg, and distributing pre-deal documents. The assistant will also maintain and report competitive deal results, distribute underwriting liability information, enter municipal underwriting buy/sell tickets, and maintain regulatory files for municipal underwritings. Additional tasks may be assigned by management as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • 1-2 years of related experience and/or training.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Excellent verbal, written and organizational skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Analytical, critical thinking and problem solving skills.
  • Process management skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software, Ipreo and Bloomberg.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Demonstrated reliability in attendance and work performance.
  • Typing, alpha/numeric data entry.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain daily assigned inventories with regard to position and activity.
  • Research any out of balance trade/system problems.
  • Create managed deals in Ipreo and Bloomberg for pricing day.
  • Send out appropriate wires during and after pricing date.
  • Distribute and post to sales all pre-deal documents via Bloomberg and internal e-mail.
  • Maintain and report all competitive deal results to accounting and trading desk.
  • Distribute underwriting liability (balance) information to accounting department on daily basis.
  • Enter municipal underwriting buy/sell tickets as required.
  • Match tickets for trading and underwriting inventories.
  • Distribute calendar weekly for upcoming underwriting deals, competitive or negotiated.
  • Maintain regulatory files for all municipal underwritings.
  • Assist in answering telephones.
  • Perform other tasks as requested by management.
