About The Position

The City of Largo is looking for a skilled Electrician to help maintain and repair our facilities while ensuring top-notch service for our community! The position involves performing electrical maintenance, repairs, and installations in City facilities, coordinating building maintenance across multiple trades, troubleshooting and maintaining environmental systems for commercial buildings, and working independently while collaborating with a dedicated facilities team.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Five (5) years of directly related experience in installation or maintenance of at least one specified trade
  • Three (3) years of experience in the repair and maintenance of commercial or government buildings
  • Completion of trade school or apprenticeship training in at least one assigned trade area
  • A valid journeyman or contractor's license for at least one specified trade

Responsibilities

  • Performing electrical maintenance, repairs, and installations in City facilities
  • Coordinating building maintenance across multiple trades, including HVAC, plumbing, carpentry, and mechanical systems
  • Troubleshooting and maintaining environmental systems for commercial buildings
  • Working independently while collaborating with a dedicated facilities team
  • Demonstrating an understanding and reflection of the City's mission, vision, and values
  • Managing assignments and priorities to ensure the fulfillment of projects, tasks, and responsibilities
  • Coordinating and overseeing the efforts of contractors engaged in maintenance and repair work
  • Examining buildings and fixtures and making recommendations for preventive maintenance, repairs, and renovations
  • Reviewing vendor/contractor invoices for accuracy and maintaining records and warranties
  • Assisting with the preparation of operational and capital budget estimates for renovation and maintenance projects
  • Responding to service requests courteously and resolving complaints in an efficient manner
  • Tracking the occurrence of life/safety inspections and ensuring they are performed regularly
