About The Position

The Trades Specialist - Electrician position is a full-time role within the Department of Corrections and Community Supervision. Requirements

• Successful completion of a NYS two-year trades specialist (electrician) traineeship or NYS two-year electrician training program
• Equivalent electrical two-year training or apprenticeship program
• Four years of full-time experience in the electrical trade under a skilled journey level electrician
• Completion of 288 hours of trade-specific classroom instruction
• Completion of 45 hours of technical math coursework
• Completion of 45 hours of technical communications coursework
• Completion of 15 hours of blueprint/schematic reading coursework
• Average grade of 'C' or better in coursework
• 4,000 hours of on-the-job training
