About The Position
The Trades ER position at St. Luke's involves performing scheduled preventive maintenance and repairs throughout the hospital's interior and exterior structures. This role is crucial in ensuring that the hospital operates smoothly and efficiently, contributing to the overall mission of providing excellent care to patients. The Trades ER will assist the Engineering Department in maintaining various equipment and structures, gaining valuable experience by working alongside maintenance and trade technicians. This hands-on role allows for the development of skills through observation and direct assistance to team members. In this position, the Trades ER will be responsible for performing preventive maintenance as assigned in all mechanical rooms and on roofs throughout the campus. The individual will collaborate with the management team to establish new preventive maintenance routines, ensuring that all tasks are completed in accordance with local, state, and national codes and regulations. Effective communication with management personnel and the Engineering team is essential, as the Trades ER will need to maintain good public relations by responding professionally to the hospital's needs. Additionally, the role requires reporting any deficiencies and violations directly to supervisory and management personnel in Engineering. The Trades ER will utilize various hand, power, and technical tools to perform their duties, which may include lifting heavy loads, climbing, and other physical activities. This position is part-time and is located in Bethlehem, PA, at the Cherry Lane facility.
