About The Position

Systems Application & Technologies, Inc. (SA-TECH) is a progressive and well-established Department of Defense (DoD) contractor specializing in Range operations and maintenance (O&M); weapons testing; facilities management; aerial, ground and seaborne targets O&M; technical, logistics and other engineering support; systems integration; electronics and communications maintenance services; and a growing cybersecurity business. SA-TECH currently supports the Naval Air Warfare Center (NAWCAD) Naval Air Systems Command, and the NAWCAD Webster Outlying Field Divisions by providing rapid organic engineering, prototyping, reverse-engineering, environmental testing, antenna repairs and life-cycle extensions, and production capabilities. We are currently looking to hire a Trades Helper at our St. Inigoes, MD complex to support our engineering, testing, prototyping, repair and production facilities, specifically in the Composite Shop. The following job functions are basic requirements (but other duties may be assigned as well): Assists one or more workers in the skilled maintenance trades by performing specific or general duties of lesser skill such as: keeping a worker supplied with materials and tools, cleaning working area, machine, and equipment; assisting journeyman by holding materials or tools; and performing other unskilled tasks as directed by journeyman. The kind of work the helper is permitted to perform varies from trade to trade. In some trades the helper is confined to supplying, lifting, and holding materials and tools, and cleaning working areas and in others, the worker is permitted to perform specialized machine operations, or parts of a trade that are also performed by workers on a full-time basis.

Requirements

  • High school education or equivalent
  • Knowledge of common hand and power tools
  • Minimum of two (2) years of general shop experience, with knowledge of basic power tools
  • Ability to work within a team environment
  • Solid organizational and communication skills
  • Current Maryland Driver’s License required; must be able to be insured through company’s vehicle insurance policy while driving work/government/rental vehicles during working hours, and for the duration of employment
  • U.S. Citizenship required and you must already have or be able to obtain a U.S. DoD Secret Security Clearance prior to start date and maintain a Secret clearance throughout employment
  • All candidates will be required to pass background screening to include SSN, Driver Record, and Criminal Background Investigation

  • Formal trade school, college, or military training school highly desired
