About The Position

Work Experience: Entry-Level (Foundational) Work Experience Description: Suitable for students with basic foundational knowledge and little to no practical experience, ideal for freshmen or sophomores who have completed only introductory courses. ᅟ Department Name Hukilau Marketplace Position Scope Load and unload tools, equipment, materials, and other items from trucks, carts, forklifts, and trailers. This includes rolling out at the beginning of a shift and rolling up at the end of a shift. Includes cleaning up job sites and keeping shop area clean and organized. Provides general labor assistance to workers. This work may include but is not limited to digging, sweeping, cutting materials, measuring, or other trade related work. Works with basic hand tools and power tools as instructed by supervisor. Works with hand tools and small equipment such as power washers, airless sprayers, compressors, line trimmers, blowers, mowers, etc. as directed by supervisor. Accurately accounts for time using the facilities work order system.

Requirements

  • Read, write and express information verbally in English, as well as understand written and oral instructions in English.
  • Good health and able to perform a full range body movements and be able to lift and move 40-50lbs on a regular basis.
  • Good dexterity and be able to work on scaffolds and ladders, and not be afraid of heights.
  • Must attach resume and current semester class schedule (weekly view).
  • Must exemplify the university Honor Code, including the Dress and Grooming Principles and Expectations

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of hand tools used in general construction trades.
  • Preference will be given to students who can work during academic breaks
