The Trademark Litigation Paralegal provides semi-autonomous, complex case support to attorneys in all phases of Trademark litigation including discovery, trial, and appeal. The Trademark Litigation Paralegal also assists attorneys with case development and strategy, client management, working closely with experts and co-counsel and may provide workflow coordination duties, works under the direction of attorneys and/or Director of Administration and Legal Support and performs miscellaneous duties as assigned. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Implement case management tools necessary to manage a case (Relativity, Everchron, Westlaw Case Notebook, Case Map, Time Map etc.) Organize, index, and oversee maintenance of all file documents. Initiate and maintain docketing within Firm’s CompuLaw system and monitor trial calendars. Assist attorneys in all phases of TTAB inter partes proceedings (oppositions, cancellations) and related motions practice, from case intake through trial and potential appeal Prepare and file Notices of Opposition, Petitions to Cancel, Answers, Amended Pleadings, Counterclaims,P Affirmative Defenses, and Rule 11/Rule 15 related support as directed. Manage service and proof of service requirements; maintain complete TTABVUE record copies and internal file alignment. Draft and file routine consent motions, extensions of time, suspension motions, and stipulations. Draft pleadings and discovery documents. Draft routine litigation documents including subpoenas, notices of deposition, templates for discovery responses, templates for other motion related responses. Assist in all aspects of deposition preparation. Manage document production process including performing document production reviews, preparing outlines and exhibits, creating privilege logs and electronic discovery logs. Assist in preparation of pre-trial order and update interim status reports to clients. Manage litigation support resources assigned to the matter. Participate in all aspects of trial preparation including coordinating logistics. Attend trials and hearings. Prepare exhibits, deposition designations, maintain trial exhibit log, and coordinate war room design and setup. Conduct legal (or other) research as requested, including Westlaw, and cite checking. Trademark enforcement investigations of newly filed USPTO trademark applications. Trademark enforcement investigations of unlawful or unauthorized common law uses of trademarks. Research and capture social media, for infringing content for litigation purposes.
