A key member of Dole’s Foodservice Sales Strategy team, the Trade Strategy Analyst supports the foodservice customer organization across pricing analysis, operator trade management, and opportunity analysis using operator rebate data. This team member will drive these activities through operator data analysis, contract system management, and volume reviews to identify volume trend shifts and operator opportunities. This individual is key in ensuring our pricing offers are aligned for both Dole and operator success and will be critical in ensuring we maximize our partnerships through identifying and closing operator portfolio gaps. This role provides flexibility to work in a hybrid environment of home and our Westlake Village, CA office. (Hybrid is defined as three times per week in the office).

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in Foodservice trade analysis or equivalent analytical experience
  • Ability to proficiently conduct business and data analyses resulting in data driven recommendations for business defense and expansion.
  • Ability to create professional presentations incorporating data, relevant insights, and information to thoughtfully present recommendations.
  • Ability to understand and react to market or business developments requiring analysis and updates to trade programs.
  • Ability to interact and influence cross functional partners and leaders effectively.
  • Exceptional analytical skills, including the ability to proactively outline fact-based methodology for a business problem or opportunity.
  • Ability to interpret customer data and market intelligence to formulate trade and pricing recommendations to drive success in the market for both Dole and our customers.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to actively participate in group discussions with individuals from various functions within the organization.

  • Bachelor's degree in business or other discipline that requires quantitative knowledge is required
  • Ability to sit and use the computer for extended periods of time; ability to answer phones and use a variety of office equipment; ability to lift 15 pounds and reach overhead.

Nice To Haves

  • Understanding of foodservice distributors, operator segments, and purchasing organizations is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate cost implications associated with a specific price recommendation including distributor, operator, redistributor, and purchasing organization to make a recommendation to Finance.
  • Utilize pricing intel and learnings to develop appropriate trade and price recommendations that deliver on customer needs while supporting Dole financial goals.
  • Mine operator rebate information to develop item level recommendations, or volume risk callouts, based upon gap analysis.
  • Manage and update contract pricing agreements through recommendations from Finance and using insight from the Sales organization.
  • Establish cadence as first point of contact with our trade processing partner to evaluate and identify opportunities for process improvement and to assist with business needs.
  • Actively participates in the development of innovative solutions, tool creation, and process efficiencies to continue elevating organizational capabilities.
