Purpose: The Trade Compliance Post‑Entry Specialist is responsible for reviewing U.S. customs entries for accuracy and identifying, documenting, and coordinating post‑entry corrections in accordance with U.S. Customs and Border Protection requirements. This role supports tariff recovery initiatives by ensuring post‑entry adjustments are properly reconciled with customer claims and communicated accurately to internal and external stakeholders. This position supports Magna Seating’s Trade Compliance function and works closely with Customs Brokers, Finance, and customer‑facing teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or an Operations Management related field strongly preferred.
  • 1–5 years of experience in Trade Compliance, Customs Brokerage, or related field
  • Working knowledge of U.S. customs entry processes and post entry procedures
  • Strong attention to detail and documentation discipline
  • Ability to communicate effectively across Trade, Finance, and customer facing teams

Responsibilities

  • Review customs entry documentation to validate classification, valuation, country of origin, and duty treatment
  • Identify post entry errors and coordinate corrections (e.g., PSCs, protests, refunds) with Customs Brokers
  • Maintain documentation supporting post entry corrections and tariff recovery claims
  • Reconcile post entry corrections with customer debit/credit claims to ensure accurate recovery
  • Support audits, CF 28/CF 29 responses, and internal compliance reviews
  • Track and report post entry activity metrics in support of compliance monitoring
  • Collaborate with the Corporate Trade team and Novi based Trade Compliance resources
  • Supports Internal / External Audit efforts regarding ISO 9001:2015, IATF 16949 Certification for remote site location (Group Office)
  • Supports the requirements as detailed in Standard Operating Procedure 8000 (Quality Management System)
  • Ensure employees work in the manner consistent with the organizations established objectives and targets utilizing protective equipment, devices, measures, and procedures as promulgated by state and federal regulations.
  • Establish clear goals for workplace health and safety.
  • Complete safety talks, safety meetings, and required training occur, as defined.
  • Additional duties as assigned.
