JOB TITLE: Trade Compliance Lead LOCATION: Richardson, TX DUTIES: Oversee the import/export process and ensure adherence to relevant laws & regulations; coordinate internal customs audits, monitor post entry issues, interact with external auditors for audit reviews, and process post entry corrections with U.S. Customs; work with other departments & teams to incorporate trade compliance within business systems or processes; review and make recommendations regarding marking waiver requests; manage the integration and daily operation of SAP ERP & SAP GTS trade compliance modules, ensuring accurate classification, screening, licensing, & customs filings while aligning system controls with global regulatory requirements & company compliance policies; maintain records as required by customs regulations; develop, implement, and track metrics for evaluating trade compliance & continuous improvement; manage SAP ERP & SAP GTS systems to communicate with customs officials, government agencies, legal counsel, & trade compliance consultants; provide cross-functional leadership & training related to trade compliance; classify parts, components, & finished products for import & export according to U.S. & international Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) regulations, manage the classification master database, update classification procedures, and collaborate with external auditors on classification, country of origin, valuation, preferential & free trade programs, and U.S. Customs Broker matters involving changes, corrections, & disclosures; conduct research on valuation, plan corrective actions, and respond to third-party inquiries; train vendors in the US & Asia, as well as internal company departments, on documentation and trade compliance requirements. What We Are Looking For REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's or foreign equivalent degree in any field, and 5 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or as a Trade Compliance Specialist, Import/Export Specialist, or in a related/similar position. Experience therein to include 5 years in trade compliance (including origin determination, valuation, classification for import & export, export control license applications, denied party & sanctions screening, and recordkeeping), SAP ERP & SAP GTS use in maintaining trade data & classification, BOM analysis, order & shipment investigation, shipping document review, audits, reporting, system support, & collaboration with IT to resolve system issues, and cross-functional collaboration with sourcing, logistics, finance & legal departments to align compliance with business strategy; and 3 years in antidumping & countervailing duties, 301 Chinese Tariffs, 232 Tariffs on Steel & Aluminum, working with vendors & supply chain teams in Asia, Europe & the US (including vendor relations, communication, SOP review, import/export documentation, shipment troubleshooting, and advising on classification, origin, & valuation), HTS code classification for HVAC materials, parts, components & products, managing customs broker relationships, reviewing customs broker SOPs, providing details regarding HTS, Country of Origin, Value & Free Trade Agreement qualifications, and training vendors, sourcing, engineering, finance & other company departments.
