About The Position

The Trade Compliance Analyst’s primary responsibility will be to assist the Director, Trade Compliance in regards to the company’s compliance with trade laws and regulations. They will be the company’s point of contact for any freight forwarders, brokers or other external service providers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • 5+ years related experience
  • Proficient and experienced working with USHTS classifications.
  • Proficient working with U.S. Customs Regulations and Federal Trade Regulations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to handle sensitive data.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent computer skills, with MS Office Applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

  • Support the company’s compliance with trade laws and regulations.
  • Assist with due diligence for new vendors and products.
  • Ensures the proper classification, valuation, marking, and country of origin of imported merchandise and the proper use of duty preference programs.
  • Supports merchandising department and participates in product reviews to validate classification and ensure compliance with all governmental agencies.
  • Assists in reviewing and developing compliance procedures for service providers and suppliers.
  • Stay abreast of US trade laws and customs regulations as well as global standards; provide updates to management of new developments and potential risks/liabilities as well as any required modifications to current procedures.
  • Participate in the development, review, and maintenance of compliance policies, procedures and manuals.
  • Serves as internal resource for information requests with regard to import compliance.
  • Audit customs entries for compliance and coordinate corrections, as needed.
  • Provide support for obtaining applicable shipment permits and product certificates.
  • Maintain records in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Serve as a point of contact for the company’s freight forwarders, brokers and other external service providers to ensure the proper declaration of customs information.
  • Identifies opportunities for duty refunds and savings including duty drawback.
  • Assist with strategic projects to improve efficiency, compliance and cost reduction initiatives.
  • Efficiently and accurately submit Customs entries and ISF’s utilizing ABI Software.
