About The Position

We are hiring a U.S. Import Trade Compliance Advisor to ensure adherence to U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) regulations and drive efficiency using automation. This role requires expert knowledge of U.S. import regulations and hands-on experience leveraging tools such as Power BI and Power Automate to streamline processes. you will assist in managing the company's U.S. import activities in accordance with current policies, standards, and procedures, while ensuring the company's objectives are met in terms of profitability, efficiency, and regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate will leverage data and technology to ensure regulatory adherence, mitigate risk and cost, and optimize supply chain efficiency.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in International Trade, Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
  • Experience: A minimum of 5 years of experience in U.S. import trade compliance, with a demonstrated history of managing compliance programs.
  • Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in utilizing compliance automation tools and trade management systems.
  • Experience with CBP's ACE portal, including running reports and managing compliance activities.
  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP) and data analysis tools (e.g., Power BI, advanced Excel).
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills are essential for this role.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to interpret complex regulations for communication to diverse audiences.
  • Experience with automation of internal processes and with external service providers
  • HS classification experience; preferably with hi tech, telecom, electronics products

Nice To Haves

  • Customs Broker License: U.S. Customs Broker License (LCB) is preferred or willingness to obtain.
  • SAP GTS proficiency is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as an internal advisor on U.S. Customs regulations (19 CFR), tariff classification (HTSUS), valuation, and country of origin rules.
  • Maintain and enhance the company's import compliance program, policies, and standard operating procedures.
  • Analyze and interpret data from CBP's Automated Commercial Environment (ACE) portal, broker reporting and internal ERP systems to monitor compliance metrics, identify risks, and drive process improvements using automation.
  • Customs broker management includes conducting regular audits to ensure entry accuracy, timeliness, and adherence to performance expectations.
  • Develop and deliver comprehensive training materials and sessions to internal stakeholders (Sourcing, Supply Chain, Finance, etc.) on import compliance topics.
  • Monitor changes in U.S. trade laws and regulations (e.g., tariffs, Free Trade Agreements, Participating Government Agency requirements) and communicate potential impacts to business stakeholders.
  • Monitor imports and resolve issues associated with shipment delays
  • HS Classification with proper application of trade remedies and participating government agency requirements
  • Importer Security Filing - ensure timely & accurate filing with CBP
  • Customs Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (CTPAT) - Assist with supplier questionnaire evaluation and process management.

  • The salary range for this position is LOCATION: Plano, Texas Base pay range: $100,000 to $150,000
  • Short-Term Variable Compensation Plan: Your pay also includes the opportunity for an annual bonus. Actual bonus payouts are based on performance of the business against the unit's objectives, individual performance, and the individual bonus target. Certain eligibility and pro-ration rules apply.

  • The Ericsson US 401(k) Plan offers an automatic 3% company contribution and Ericsson matches $1 for every $1 you put into the 401(k) Plan on the first 3% of your eligible pay, plus 50 cents on every $1 on the next 2% of eligible pay. When you contribute at least 5% of eligible pay, you are receiving Ericsson's full matching contributions. Matching and company automatic contributions stop when your total eligible pay for the year reaches the IRS limits. Employees will also receive company credits in an amount equal to the cost of basic life insurance and basic accidental death and dismemberment coverage, as well as short-term and long-term disability coverage. Employees also have the option to participate in Ericsson's Stock Purchase Plan.
  • New employees are provided a minimum of 15 days of accrued vacation, up to 3 personal days per year, 11 annual holidays, 8 hours of volunteer time, and 80 hours of sick time annually. Please note paid time off is pro-rated based on the employee's start date. Furthermore, Ericsson provides up to 16 weeks of paid maternity leave and 6 weeks of parental or adoption leave at 100% of pay.
