Come grow with us and let us show you why Crete Carrier is at the heart of the transportation industry!   Repairs and maintains diesel tractor/trailer and/or refrigeration equipment and any other work associated with tractor/trailer repair. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Inspects, diagnoses, and repairs brake systems, engines, electrical components, steering systems, transmissions, drive trains, and tires for tractors, trailers, and refrigeration equipment. Performs preventative maintenance services, including changing oil, checking fluids, inspecting batteries, testing lights, and lubricating equipment. Establishes and maintains positive working relationships. Receives and carries out instructions. Maintains regular and predictable attendance.

Requirements

  • Communicates effectively.
  • Possesses knowledge of skilled trades such as automotive or diesel mechanics.
  • Displays electrical and diagnostic skills.
  • Exhibits ability to read, write, talk, and hear; add, subtract, multiply, and divide; and lift and/or move up to 50 pounds as required.
  • Uses computers and software programs proficiently.
  • Associate's degree; or one to two years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must have own tools
  • Safety shoes (steel or composite toe) required

Nice To Haves

  • ASE certified and DOT inspection certified as required by supervisor
  • EPA Certification for Federal Clean Air Act 609 as required by supervisor and/or location
  • EPA Certification for Federal Clean Air Act 608 as required by supervisor and/or location
  • Valid driver's license as required by supervisor, with CDL Class A driver's license preferred
