Keller Trucking is seeking a 2nd Shift Tractor/Trailer Mechanic. This role primarily involves the repair and maintenance of the company's fleet of Semi-Truck Tractors and Trailers.

Requirements

  • Basic level of mechanical knowledge
  • Attention to detail

  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to follow multi-step directions
  • Ability to adapt to an ever-changing, fast-paced environment
  • Effective communicator with strong written and oral skills
  • Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent
  • Brake certification in accordance with FMCSA § 396.25 required
  • Basic computer skills such as email and Word

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with OEM software is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Maintain proficiency in the diagnostics and repair of all assigned equipment
  • Assist senior technician in the completion of project work
  • Perform preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs and modifications to assigned equipment
  • Read and comprehend service troubleshooting guides using OEM software
  • Maintain a basic level of skill in diesel after treatment, air brakes, electrical and lighting systems
  • Perform daily yard checks
  • Perform safety and annual inspections in accordance with FMCSA regulations
  • Install, mount, and dismount tires
  • Perform service calls for emergency breakdowns during working hours as needed
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area in accordance with company/OSHA standards
  • Interact courteously and professionally with drivers, vendors, and other employees regarding vehicle repairs and shop business
  • Assist in the completion of required documentation including vehicle write-ups, work orders, and timecards
  • Weekend availability
