About The Position

This employee operates designated tractor-trailer combinations for extended periods of time, over long distances between company facilities, terminals, or worksites to pickup, transport, and deliver freight in a safe, timely, and efficient manner. As part of this function, Tractor Trailer drivers drop, hook, spot, or otherwise interchange equipment for loading or unloading at various locations under varied conditions. Tractor Trailer Drivers are subject to the Hours of Service Regulations of the United States Department of Transportation (USDOT).

Requirements

  • Education or experience equivalent to a high school diploma is required.
  • Ability to be self-supervised and complete assigned tasks.
  • Essential time management, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Must possess a valid Class A Commercial Driver's License with Semi-Trailer, Hazmat, and Tanker endorsement.
  • Knowledge of and compliance with all FMCSA rules and regulations governing safe driving, hours of service, inspection, and maintenance of equipment.
  • Ability to operate any type and configuration of equipment assigned.
  • No felony conviction or misdemeanor drug conviction.
  • Satisfactory work history record as determined by inquiry to previous employer.
  • Ability to drive and/or work the maximum number of hours allowed under FMCSA's Hours of Service Regulations.
  • Physically qualified to drive a commercial motor vehicle as demonstrated by a current medical examiner's certificate.
  • Pass a driving test or competency on company equipment to demonstrate driving skills and ability.
  • Capable of working independently without constant supervision.
  • Meet all qualification requirements and not disqualified under USDOT Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, Parts 383 and 391.
  • Minimum of 4 years recent driving experience as an over the road driver or graduated from a Company acknowledged training program.
  • Record of safe and competent driving (personal and commercial) as demonstrated on state Motor Vehicle Records.
