About The Position

The Tractor Trailer Driver position at WM involves safely operating a tractor-trailer or straight truck to perform assigned duties on designated routes. The role emphasizes compliance with safety regulations and efficient route management while providing essential services to customers.

Requirements

• 1 year operating a vehicle requiring a CDL or 1 year equivalent military driving within the last 7 years.
• Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class A upon hire required.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Legally eligible to work in the United States.
• Ability to perform physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodations.
• Successfully complete pre-employment DOT drug screen and DOT physical.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate a tractor-trailer or straight truck according to OSHA and DOT requirements.
• Perform pre- and post-trip inspections of the assigned vehicle using eDVIR.
• Report any unsafe situations or service calls to Route Manager and Dispatch.
• Participate in scheduled training and meetings as required by Route Manager.
• Work closely with Route Managers and Dispatch to improve route efficiencies.
• Assist other company drivers as directed by Route Manager and Dispatch.
• Notify Route Manager of any incidents, accidents, or property damage.
• Communicate customer requests and service changes to Route Manager and Dispatch.
• Ensure all containers are dumped and the customer's location is clean.
• Position containers to avoid blocking driveways or traffic.
• Follow route assignments and complete documentation at the end of the route.
