About The Position

As a vital member of our Rail/Transit Traction Power group, you'll have the opportunity to design for transit and rail traction power projects so we can shape lasting solutions for the future. We'll ask you to draw from your engineering expertise to prepare technical design for infrastructure such as traction power substations and power distribution. You will be responsible for taking design from conceptual engineering through to detailed design and prepare of transit/rail contract documents for construction. In addition, you'll be asked to support national projects. Working alongside a team of Technicians and Engineers, you'll be responsible for creating drawings and simulations using software tools and resources supporting our Clients' overall project goals. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Professional expertise in Traction Power design.
  • Experience in design software (e.g. AutoCAD, Revit, MicroStation, Bentley- OpenBuildings).
  • Standard Computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Experience in electrified railway (3rd rail or Overhead Contact System) substation and power distribution systems design.
  • Experience with AC and DC rail transit traction power substations.
  • Knowledge of wayside cable plant, Circuit breakers, Switchgear, Transformers, Rectifiers.
  • Experience with SCADA and PLC control systems.
  • Knowledge of relay protection.

Nice To Haves

  • Professional Engineer (PE) License.

Responsibilities

  • Design for transit and rail traction power projects.
  • Prepare technical design for traction power substations and power distribution.
