In the Los Angeles area, Parsec provides services at the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad Hobart Terminal and operates 24 hours a day and 365 days a year. Track Verifier ensures that containers and trailer numbers are correctly loaded on corresponding railcars and verify the list of railcars in the system match the order of railcars physically on the strip tracks. Inbound and Outbound Train Verification: Perform verification off every trailer / container along with railcars matches what is in the computer system. Verifiers are required to drive in the rail yard to perform these verifications. This position is unionized and after a 120-day probation period, you will become a union member. Must have open availability to work any needed shift and weekends. Employees are subject to a shift change every six months.

Requirements

  • Drive pick-up truck to verify units and turn in reports
  • Enter data into dash mounted computer
  • Printout reports
  • Report information to train coordinators and the main offices
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills to coordinate with a variety of individuals
  • Ability to listen, learn, take direction, make changes, and work alone or in a group environment
  • 18 years of age or older
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Must comply with established safety rules, policies, and procedures, including wearing required safety equipment
  • Documented successful completion of lawful post-offer, pre-employment checks including criminal background check and drug screening

Responsibilities

  • Accurately verify the car orders and freight loaded on inbound trains
  • Verify the freight is accurately loaded on outbound trains
  • Data Entry and assist supervisors with reports
  • Responsible for special tasks requested by management and/or supervisor
  • All other duties as assigned
