About The Position

The Track Supervisor directs and controls the activities of employees who are responsible for operating equipment to groom and prepare the dirt racetrack for racing. This involves operating graders, pay loaders, water trucks, and other equipment. The supervisor ensures the proper maintenance and availability of all racetrack equipment and maintains an inventory of supplies of tools, equipment, and materials to ensure that sufficient supplies are available to meet anticipated workload.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent
• 3 to 5 years of experience with heavy equipment with some supervisory responsibility
• Ability to operate heavy equipment

Responsibilities

• Directs and controls the activities of employees responsible for operating equipment to groom and prepare the racetrack for racing.
• Plans and assigns work to employees on a daily basis; checks and evaluates work to ensure completion on time and in accordance with quality standards.
• Coordinates work with other areas and addresses disciplinary problems informally.
• Screens prospective hires and evaluates performance of new employees during their probationary period.
• Trains employees on the use of heavy equipment and demonstrates proper techniques and safety regulations.
• Operates graders to ensure proper and precise track grading and reports on unsafe track surface areas.
• Ensures proper maintenance and availability of all racetrack equipment by reporting necessary repairs.
• Maintains an inventory of supplies of tools, equipment, and materials to meet anticipated workload.
• Notifies management of work-related complaints, accidents, and injuries to recommend appropriate responses.
