Requirements

  • A minimum of 3 years of field leadership experience is required for the foreman position.
  • Possess knowledge of underground utility installation, excavation regulations, and pipeline safety.
  • Ability to work in a crew-based and fast-paced environment.
  • Must be punctual and dependable.
  • Must be comfortable performing a variety of manual tasks for extended periods and sometimes in unfavorable weather conditions.
  • Perform physical activities that require considerable use of arms, legs, and movement of the whole body such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, and handling materials.
  • Ability to work both independently and as a team player.
  • Ability to pass DOT pre-employment physical and drug/alcohol screening.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required.

Responsibilities

  • Operates track loader to excavate trenches, fill ditches or load materials.
  • Operates equipment in compliance with Kinsley's safety policies and OSHA procedures.
  • Ensures company equipment is maintained and in good running condition by greasing and checking fluids.
  • Demonstrate a working knowledge of underground utilities.
  • Performs other related duties and responsibilities as required to complete the job.
  • Effectively lead, manage, and motivate crews of 5 to 10 individuals.
  • Successfully manage and schedule subcontractors.
  • Interpret blueprints, project plans, and specifications.
  • Plan and schedule the necessary manpower, tools, materials, and equipment needed to complete the job.
  • Complete daily timesheets and maintain daily logs.
  • Install new pipes for storm or sanitation sewers, drains, and water mains in prepared trenches.
  • Ensure pipes are aligned properly and positioned on grade and on line.
  • Assist with backfilling and operating compaction equipment as needed.
  • Recognize and mitigate job site hazards.
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as needed to support the crew.
  • Assist in backfilling and running compaction equipment.
  • Clean and prepare construction sites by removing debris and possible hazards.
  • Use various hand and power tools.
  • Assist with removal of fine grade stones along curb lines and sidewalks.
  • Take and understand instructions from crew leaders.
