About The Position

The Track Laborer position at Canadian Pacific Railway (CPKC) involves safely maintaining the physical railway track within a designated territory. This role is crucial for ensuring the operational integrity of the railway system, adhering to guidelines set by the Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) and CPKC. The position requires outdoor work in various weather conditions and involves physical labor, including the use of hand tools and small machinery.

Requirements

• Mechanical aptitude is essential.
• Reliable transportation to and from the work site and a valid driver's license are required.
• Ability to perform physical work outdoors in all types of weather.
• Ability to read and understand safety rules and regulations, performing tasks in accordance with those rules.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• High School diploma or GED is required.
• CDL license or the ability to obtain one (CPKC will assist with costs).

Responsibilities

• Perform track maintenance and renewal work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Use hand tools and small machines for track renewal.
• Operate track renewal equipment as needed.
• Stand, lift, and squat for extended periods, with the ability to lift 50 lbs or more.
