About The Position

Herzog Contracting Corp. is currently seeking Track Laborers in Orlando, FL to join our team. This position involves installing railroad track and embankments, including special track work, road crossings, signage, and rail lubricators. The role requires the use of various hand and power tools, as well as a wide variety of track machines. Laborers may work as part of a crew or independently and will be under the direction of a Railroad Track Foreman or Railroad Track Welder.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Entry level, on-the-job training provided.
• Ability to complete work under time pressures and maintain composure under stress.
• Must be able to work well with others.
• Able to read, write and communicate in English.

Responsibilities

• Installs railroad track and embankments including special track work, road crossings, signage, and rail lubricators.
• Uses hand and power tools and a variety of track machines such as spike pullers, spike drivers, tie adze, hydraulic rail jacks, power wrenches, tie boring machines, rail drills, rail grinders, and rail saws.
• Operates highway trucks equipped with rail guide wheels, hydraulic booms, and lift gates to remove and replace ties, rails, fasteners, and other components.
• May work as a member of a crew or independently.
