About The Position

Abernethy Contracting is looking for a Track Hoe Operator for our Pipe Division to join our team in the Charlotte area. If you have experience as a Track Hoe Operator in Pipe, take safety seriously and can adapt to a changing work site, this is right up your alley. Requirements

  • 2-5 years of experience operating a track hoe for pipe crews.
  • Experience placing storm pipe required.
  • Sense of urgency and ability to respond to changing situations.
  • Ability to adapt, prioritize and complete projects in a changing construction environment.
  • Commitment to safe work practices.
  • Ability to work overtime and weekends as needed.
  • Have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Have the ability to travel within 60-75 miles of greater Charlotte Metro Area.
  • Must pass a pre-employment background screening.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience placing water and sewer pipe a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Work with pipe crew in the excavation and installation process of laying pipe.
  • Ensure trench is excavated to the proper depth/grade.
  • Responsible for placement of water, storm and sanitary sewer pipe in the excavation.
  • Comply with all company and site-specific policies and procedures.
  • Perform routine inspections, safety walk-arounds, and preventative maintenance on assigned equipment.
  • Maintain equipment in good operating condition and reporting of maintenance requirements.
