About The Position

The Seasonal Maintenance Specialist I (Operations Ranger) position at the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department involves performing entry-level building maintenance and construction work within a state park. Requirements

• Completion of the 8th grade.
• Experience in facility, equipment, or grounds maintenance.
• Must possess a valid State driver's license.
• Knowledge of general facility, building, and grounds repair and cleaning techniques.
• Knowledge of landscaping and grounds maintenance techniques.
• Knowledge of basic plumbing, carpentry, electrical, masonry, janitorial, and mechanical maintenance and repair tasks.
• Skill in the use of hand and power tools, mowers, trimmers, tractors, and other mechanical equipment.
• Skill in effective verbal and written communication.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in customer service roles.
• Familiarity with computerized point of sale systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform entry-level building maintenance and construction work.
• Execute maintenance on facilities, buildings, vehicles, equipment, and grounds.
• Operate various types of equipment including hand and power tools, mowers, trimmers, and tractors.
• Conduct preventative maintenance of restrooms, buildings, facilities, and grounds.
• Assist with visitor services including customer service, fee collection, and public relations.
• Comply with all Agency, Division, and Branch rules, regulations, and procedures.
