About The Position

The TPM Lead- FI Coordinator is the point person for the facility to the Regional CI Leader with coordination and leadership of all onsite continuous improvement projects. The role exists to support/drive the pursuit of establishing TPM as the way we run our operations. Creates a rapport with floor personnel to garner genuine Voice of the Employee (VOE) ideas for Kaizen Projects and generates enthusiasm toward engagement in projects. Provides administrative and data collection functions for plant Kaizen pre and post work, 6S, Blitz, and Process Quality initiatives and events. The TPM/CI Coordinator assists with trending and educating floor personnel on the importance of their engagement toward continuous improvement efforts and using LEAN Tools. Shares best practices.   Measures of Success: TPM Engagement of the Medina Site Continuous improvement of OC TPM Audit/Assessment Scores Continuous reduction in Downtime during the TPM Zero Loss Journey

Requirements

  • Able to effectively read and communicate (oral and written), in English
  • Must be able to understand verbal and written instructions
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a functional team
  • Attention to detail is a critical skill requirement
  • Must possess strong organization skills and work ethic
  • Strong math skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide, percentages) and apply simple mathematical formulas
  • Must have the ability to multi-task
  • Must have strong internal and external customer service skills
  • Must have the ability to perform basic mathematical calculations
  • Operate a computer (laptop, desktop or tablet) or other keyboard instruments
  • Intermediate computer literacy is a mandatory skill – Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and databases.  A large portion of this role involves written/computer based communications
  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent required
  • Current/prior strong involvement with TPM teams
  • Leadership training/experience
  • Must be able to learn the tasks and responsibilities of this position
  • Ability to stand for 8 hours straight
  • Perform fine motor skills such as typing and writing for 8 hours straight
  • Able to climb and descend stairs or ladders; work at elevated heights
  • Must be able to squat, bend at the waist, and knees freely
  • Distinguish colors on signs, signals, and alarms
  • Bending, twisting, and repetitive movements
  • Handle, control or feel objects, tools or controls
  • Working in and around fiberglass mat and asphalt fumes continuously without irritation
  • It is a requirement to be a U.S. citizen OR have valid proof of authorization to work in the United States.

  • 2 year degree preferred, but can be working toward this goal

Responsibilities

  • Leads as Core Team member on TPM-JIPM Autonomous Maintenance (AM) Pillar
  • Support Planned Maintenance, Training & Development, and Focused Improvement Pillars
  • Drives results of Autonomous Maintenance, Steps 1-3 completion
  • Attends all TPM meetings, works with leaders to advance team capabilities in problem solving, critical thinking, and analysis of issues to root cause solutions
  • Leads Kaizen Events as needed
  • Assist Shift Leaders and others in the plant on using Lean Tools to drive Problem Solving
  • Assist Regional CI Leader in developing site A-3’s as needed
  • Provide assistance to division and other plants on continuous improvement initiatives
