About The Position

Amazon Leo is Amazon’s low Earth orbit satellite network. Our mission is to deliver fast, reliable internet connectivity to customers beyond the reach of existing networks. From individual households to schools, hospitals, businesses, and government agencies, Amazon Leo will serve people and organizations operating in locations without reliable connectivity. Export Control Requirement: Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum. The TPM III for Launch Operations/Special Projects will act as the focal for special projects related to space hardware and launch processing, they will be responsible for inputs and outputs to Launch Operations for internal and externally facing initiatives. This individual will work closely with engineering and manufacturing teams to ensure successful space hardware processing for unique, challenging and highly ambiguous projects involving space hardware, launch vehicles, satellite dispensers and payload processing. The TPM III is a technical leader of the team, providing guidance on many aspects of any given project including but not limited to: testing requirements, assembly/integration work cell design or modifications within the payload processing facilities, facility and equipment planning, integration and test application implementation and improvement, process control, design for manufacturability, project management, and tooling design. The candidate will work closely with Launch Operations/Mission Management that own the Launch Provider relationships, Dispenser provider relationships, and Payload Processing Facility leadership, reachback into engineering teams, as well as be the Launch Operations liaison for any necessary externally facing vendor relationships. The ideal candidate is comfortable in a highly technical setting and leads collaboration with other departments to reach the best solution to any problem and is able to technically challenge assumptions and requirements of these departments, such as dynamics and thermal analysis, design engineering, and tooling engineering. They'll have extensive experience in space hardware integration and test, with particular focus on satellite to dispenser and/or launch vehicle integration.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of technical product or program management experience
  • 7+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience
  • 3+ years of software development experience
  • 5+ years of technical program management working directly with software engineering teams experience
  • Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules
  • 5+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience
  • Experience managing projects across cross functional teams, building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules
  • Experience defining KPI's/SLA's used to drive multi-million dollar businesses and reporting to senior leadership
  • Extensive experience in space hardware integration and test, with particular focus on satellite to dispenser and/or launch vehicle integration
