About the team and the role: The AI Strategy, Programs & Partnerships team at eBay drives some of the eBay's high-impact AI initiatives. The team leads strategic, cross-functional programs, helps shape eBay’s AI strategy, and delivers partnerships with leading organizations, and partners. From defining long-term AI vision and priorities to launching high-visibility pilots, the team works across boundaries to accelerate innovation and deliver tangible business outcomes. We’re looking for a Technical Program Manager (TPM) who thrives at the intersection of strategy, execution, and partnerships—someone who can turn strategic ideas into action and orchestrate sophisticated, cross-functional initiatives. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys operating in ambiguity, is comfortable engaging in technical conversations, and brings a consulting-like approach to framing problems, building alignment, and driving outcomes. You won’t be writing code, but you’ll be encouraged to understand technical concepts, engage deeply with Engineering and Research teams, and connect execution to eBay’s broader AI strategy. The right candidate will combine critical thinking, program structure, and hands-on execution in equal measure.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in program management, strategy, consulting roles.
  • Proven success leading large, sophisticated, cross-functional programs— in data, or technology domains.
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to navigate ambiguity and build alignment across teams.
  • Experience collaborating with research and engineering functions on emerging technologies.
  • Strategic approach and ability to connect execution to long-term business outcomes.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or related field

Nice To Haves

  • Consulting or strategic operations background preferred.
  • MBA or equivalent experience a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Program Strategy and Roadmap Complete the roadmap for AI programs and partnerships, translating strategic priorities into measurable goals and deliverables.
  • Collaborate with Product, Research, Marketing, and other cross-functional teams to ensure alignment across workstreams.
  • Establish success metrics, track progress, and communicate outcomes.
  • Execution and Delivery Lead execution across multiple concurrent AI initiatives.
  • Manage complex dependencies, set milestones, and ensure timely delivery across global teams.
  • Identify risks early and drive mitigation strategies.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration Serve as the connective tissue across multiple orgs and workstreams.
  • Drive alignment through structured planning, discovery, and executive readouts.
  • Partner with internal teams to scale best practices for program delivery.
  • Strategic Partnerships Support the evaluation, setup, and management of key AI partnerships with external players.
  • Collaborate with Legal, Privacy, and other teams to ensure compliance and readiness.
  • Translate partnership opportunities into actionable projects with clear objectives and metrics.
  • Reporting and Communication Lead program-level reporting and executive communications.
  • Provide concise, data-informed updates on progress and performance.
  • Ensure visibility across leadership and partner teams.
