About The Position

As a Toxicology Forensic Expert, you will investigate cases involving toxicology, analyze complex scenarios, and apply your comprehensive knowledge of standards and practices. You will write clear, scientifically sound reports and provide expert testimony. This role offers you a chance to delve into the 'why' behind incidents, critically assessing exposure, adverse effects, and causation. You will use your cumulative training, experience, and critical thinking skills, collaborate with highly respected experts, continuously learn and grow as an expert in your field, and make a tangible difference in litigation.

Requirements

• Ph.D. in toxicology with broad training and expertise in a relevant discipline (toxicology, chemistry, biology, microbiology, physiology, pathology, etc.). Postdoctoral training & research in toxicology is preferred.
• Board certification (preferred) in toxicology, such as ABFT or DABT.
• Membership in an organization with a Toxicology focus (ex. SOFT or SOT).
• 10+ years of experience working in the field of toxicology.
• Training and experience in mechanistic-oriented human clinical research and/or animal research is preferred.
• Broad-based experiences in the pharmaceutical industry, government entity, military, and/or forensic toxicology laboratory with emphasis on mechanism of action and interpretation of scientific results are highly desirable.
• Active involvement in a toxicology research program, evidence of competitive and renewable research funding, commensurate teaching and committee responsibilities if past work experience is in academia.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
• Willingness to travel approximately 20% on average.
• Valid driver’s license and the ability to drive.
• Prior forensic experience is not required.
