About The Position

The Town Planner is responsible for the professional management and oversight of Town Planning and community development functions. This role includes supervising infrastructure, capital, and transportation projects, as well as grant writing and implementation. The Town Planner provides professional advice and administration to various boards and commissions, including the Planning Board and Zoning Board of Appeals.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in planning, community development, public administration, or a related field required.
• Master's degree preferred.
• Minimum of three to five years' experience in land use or municipal planning required.
• Two years of supervisory experience preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
• Proficiency in software including word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and GIS software.
• Ability to read plans and blueprints.
• Strong organizational and supervisory skills required.

Nice To Haves

• Certification as a Planner by the American Institute for Certified Planners (AICP) preferred.
• Valid Driver's license required.

Responsibilities

Benefits
