Tower Tech Foreman
About The Position
NEC is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Tower Technician Foreman for our Tiger Teams in the southeastern Massachusetts and Rhode Island region. This role will be a part of a specialized team responsible for critical telecommunications tower projects. This role requires expertise in troubleshooting, repairing, and upgrading wireless infrastructure while ensuring the highest standards of safety and efficiency. The ideal candidate is an experienced tower technician with a problem-solving mindset to be able to address high-priority deployments and emergency response situations. Troubleshooting and clearing alarms is a primary function of this role. This position may be eligible for a $1,500 sign on bonus!
Requirements
- Must be willing to relocate.
- Position requires the ability to stoop, crawl, bend at the knees and waist, squat and lift body weight, PPE, equipment, tools and/or boxes. You must be able to safely perform the following types of activities daily as a part of your regular duty position.
- Lift/Carry 0-100 lbs. depending upon role, height of lift 0-8’ depending upon role, distance of carry varies based upon position.
- Pushing up to 75 lbs. occasionally up to 33% of the workday.
- Pulling up to 75 lbs. frequently up to 60% of the workday.
- Climbing and balancing - constantly up to 90% of the workday.
- Bending, squatting, reaching, fingering, feeling and repetition frequently up to 66% of the workday.
- Twisting, crawling, kneeling – occasionally up to 33% of the workday.
- Hand and foot motion – frequently up to 100% of the workday
- Temperature tolerance; extreme heat and cold - occasionally
- Vibration of power tools - occasionally
- Noise- occasionally
- Experience: Minimum 1-2 years in tower climbing, RF installation, or telecommunications maintenance.
- Certifications: OSHA 10 CPR/First Aid
- Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of RF systems, fiber optics, and electrical components.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting network equipment from major carriers (Verizon, T-Mobile, etc.).
- Ability to rig a tower without guidance.

- Ability to learn and understand new equipment as it is deployed into the field.
Responsibilities
- Perform complex troubleshooting, maintenance, and upgrades on cellular and broadcast towers.
- Be ready to address emergency response efforts for network outages and infrastructure failures.
- Ensure strict compliance with industry regulations, safety standards (OSHA, ANSI, FCC), and company protocols.
- Ability to climb up to 180 ft. towers while wearing approximately 30lbs of safety equipment
- Pass all safety and tower climbing certifications and/or ensure all certifications kept up to date.
- Responsible for safety and wellbeing of 3 person crew
- Operation of capstan hoist
- PIM, Sweep, and fiber testing
- Installing and writing hybrid and Raycaps
- Daily completion of JSA’s
- Crafting and implementing proven rescue plan
- Responsible for maintenance and upkeep of company vehicle
- Ensuring all equipment available and ready for daily assignments
