About The Position
The Tow-Truck Driver position involves operating a tow truck to assist in the movement of motor vehicles that have been damaged due to accidents, have stalled, or have been ticketed by police for traffic violations. The driver will receive calls or be dispatched to various locations to provide towing services. This role requires the driver to attach an anti-sway bar to the vehicle using cables, chains, or other grappling devices, and to hoist one end of the vehicle using either a hand or powered winch to tow the vehicle to a repair garage or designated area. In addition to towing, the driver may be responsible for making minor repairs to vehicles while on the highway, ensuring that vehicles are safe and ready for transport. The role may also involve removing, bending, or cutting parts of damaged vehicles in preparation for towing. When not actively engaged in towing, the driver may be required to perform other duties for the facility as necessary, demonstrating flexibility and a willingness to assist in various tasks. Candidates for this position must have at least one year of experience in a similar role and must possess an active Pennsylvania Driver's License.
