About The Position

The Tow Truck Driver is responsible for responding to incidents such as breakdowns and accidents to provide assistance to motorists. This role involves safely loading disabled or illegally parked vehicles onto a tow truck for transport. They often serve as the first point of contact for individuals in stressful situations, requiring both technical skill and effective communication.

Requirements

• Knowledgeable in heavy wrecker towing and recovery
• Experience with automotive maintenance and repairs.
• Basic knowledge of vehicle mechanics and electrical systems.
• Valid class A driver's license.
• Must be available to work nights and weekends as needed

Nice To Haves

• Experienced in the operation of low boy as well as landall preferred

Responsibilities

• Receiving communications from company dispatcher.
• Driving to the scene of a vehicle breakdown or accident.
• Interacting with the customer to find out the nature of the problem.
• Performing roadside vehicle diagnostics.
• Ability to change tires and perform maintenance on wreckers preferred
• Jump-starting vehicles, changing tires and reconnecting vehicle parts.
• Must be knowledgeable with roll back operation
• Connecting the damaged vehicle to the truck with a chain, winch or steering block.
• Towing the vehicle to an authorized service station or junkyard.
• Reporting to base and completing paperwork.
