About The Position

The Tournament Operations Lead plays a crucial role in the operational execution and success of the Masters Tournament and related events at Augusta National. This position involves collaboration with various departments, contractors, and volunteers to ensure smooth operations both inside and outside the tournament ropes. The role also includes supporting the Masters Tournament Foundation with planning and operational support for events such as the Drive, Chip and Putt National Finals and the Augusta National Women's Amateur.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Two to four years of experience in spectator sports event management, preferably in golf.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Effective time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple projects.
  • Ability to solve problems independently and collaboratively.
  • Knowledge of golf tournament operations practices and principles.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, including Publisher, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

  • Support on-site operations of the Masters Tournament, Augusta National Women's Amateur, and Drive, Chip and Putt National Finals.
  • Coordinate with the Facilities & Engineering Department and outside contractors for temporary structures installation.
  • Ensure signage creation meets department standards.
  • Act as a liaison between Tournament Headquarters and other Club departments.
  • Coordinate parking and traffic planning around the Masters Tournament.
  • Lead the acquisition and provision of equipment and supplies for the Tournament.
  • Ensure player services and amenities are operational as planned.
  • Support course evacuation, roping/patron circulation, and litter patrol efforts.
  • Manage the creation of operational documents and maps for Tournament materials.
  • Gather and communicate Tournament improvements among the Tournament team.
  • Assist in Tournament improvement projects related to operational challenges.
  • Support the budget process and act as a financial steward for the Tournament.
  • Administer Appreciation Week for volunteer participants.
