This recruitment will be used to fill twenty (20) part-time (a maximum of 24 hours per week) TOUR Ambassadors for the Office of Admissions at Oregon State University (OSU). The Office of Admissions employs qualified, currently enrolled undergraduate students as paid TOUR (Team of Undergraduate Recruiters) Ambassadors, who serve as the first point of contact for prospective students and families while representing Oregon State University through a variety of recruitment events and visit programs. The Welcome Center, as part of the Office of Admissions, welcomes nearly 34,000 visitors to campus each year, and TOUR Ambassadors are a key component of this work. Visitors represent a wide variety of backgrounds and lived experiences, and they visit from around the country and the globe. The TOUR Ambassadors are part of a team that creates a warm, welcoming atmosphere for campus visitors that focuses on providing information and access to higher education for all prospective students. TOUR Ambassadors conduct campus and housing tours, virtual campus tours, student panels, and group visits. Ambassadors also represent OSU during large admissions visit programs, recruitment events, and in overall Welcome Center operations. Through these visit experiences, ambassadors share information about 200+ academic programs, 3 OSU campuses, and countless student support resources located on the Corvallis campus for prospective students. TOUR Ambassadors will also work weekly office hours at the Welcome Center, including answering phone calls and emails on behalf of the Welcome Center, as well as checking in visiting families and providing them with a warm first welcome to the campus. Through all of their job duties, ambassadors share information about Oregon State, its academic colleges and student support services, and they also share their personal positive experiences at OSU to help prospective students make admissions decisions. All visit programs are conducted in person and virtually, with possible additional opportunities to attend off-campus recruitment events and multicultural-focused recruitment events as interested. Student employees typically work 4-10+ hours per week on a flexible schedule that supports academic priorities, while receiving ample and ongoing paid training to ensure success in the role. Successful candidates enjoy working with people, bringing a wide range of life experiences, and demonstrate enthusiasm for sharing Oregon State University with prospective students and their families. Bilingual candidates are especially encouraged to apply.
