The Sensing Product Design team is looking for a talented mechanical engineer to develop great experiences and bring Apple products to life. We are the team developing many of the sensors that changed the way people interact with their technology. Touch redefined the phone and tablet, Touch ID seamlessly secured them, and the heart rate monitor let you keep tabs on yourself.In this role, you will drive cross-functional failure analysis, root cause investigations, and design convergence through data synthesis, vendor management, and leading executive reviews across program milestones. The position is also responsible for influencing mechanical design and process decisions through Design-of-Experiment (DOE) analysis, while contributing to early architecture development and future technology initiatives. In the prototyping and validation phases, you will support external manufacturing vendors with process development and root cause analysis for issues found during testing. Support for our vendors includes international travel between 15% and 25%. Nice To Haves
- Proficiency in statistical analysis in MATLAB or JMP is preferred.
- Familiarity with sensor technology, analog/digital signals, flex circuits, IC packaging is preferred.
