About The Position

This position is responsible for the recording of cash receipts from the bank systems to the accounting system.  Working within the Accounting Shared Services department this position will provide Accounts Receivable accounting services to Tote Inc. operating companies.  This role is also responsible for the accuracy of the cash receipts as it relates to the general ledger and to ensure adherence to company policy and procedures

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in accounting (business or related field) desired
  • Three years Accounts Receivable experience
  • Working knowledge of accounting software
  • Good accounting skills
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Must be a team player
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task
  • Good organizational skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Computer literate, with the ability to utilize standard software applications and be proficient in Windows and MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel).

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for accurate cash application to customer accounts and preparing periodic reports.
  • Assist Accounting Services Manager with the reconciliation of the A/R sub-ledger to the general ledger in order to close the A/R sub-ledger on a monthly basis
  • Daily reconciliation of cash batches to bank activity
  • Provide the collection and audit staff notifications and documentation of unequal payments.
  • Processing of refunds, bad debt write-offs and contributions as requested within company policy.
  • Perform additional duties, as assigned.
