About The Position

To provide exceptional customer service while efficiently operating the tortilla-making equipment and maintaining a clean and organized work area within the tortilleria. This role involves taking customer orders, preparing fresh tortillas and related products, packaging orders, handling transactions, and ensuring the quality and freshness of all products.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a customer service role, preferably in a food service or retail environment.
  • Experience handling cash and processing transactions.
  • Experience with food preparation and handling, preferably with tortillas or related products.
  • Excellent customer service skills and a friendly, approachable demeanor.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Basic math skills and the ability to accurately handle cash transactions.
  • Knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and contribute to a positive work environment.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Food Handlers Certification (required)

  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Operate tortilla-making equipment, including dough mixers, presses, and ovens, ensuring proper functioning and adherence to safety procedures.
  • Prepare fresh tortillas of various sizes and types according to customer orders and established recipes.
  • Package tortillas and related products (e.g., tostadas, chips) for sale, ensuring proper weight, labeling, and presentation.
  • Provide prompt and friendly customer service, taking orders accurately and efficiently, answering questions about products, and addressing customer concerns.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, including cleaning equipment, sanitizing surfaces, and stocking supplies.
  • Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and packaging materials, informing management of any shortages or discrepancies.
  • Handle cash register transactions, processing payments accurately and efficiently.
  • Ensure the quality and freshness of all products, adhering to food safety standards and company guidelines.
  • Assist with other tasks as needed, such as stocking shelves, rotating stock, and receiving deliveries.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including those related to safety, sanitation, and customer service.
