About The Position

The Tort Law Paralegal III is a senior-level professional legal support position responsible for leading and directing the work of junior paralegals. This role involves providing comprehensive legal support throughout all phases of litigation, including trial preparation and courtroom assistance. The incumbent is expected to handle complex tasks with minimal supervision, utilizing their experience and judgment to achieve goals effectively.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university.
• A minimum of five (5) years of paralegal experience.
• Experience in a law firm is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and direct the work of junior paralegals, providing guidance on legal research, document drafting, and administrative tasks.
• Draft a variety of legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and correspondence.
• Prepare briefs and motions in final format, including automating Tables of Contents and Tables of Authorities.
• Perform investigations of accident/injury claims, including interviewing witnesses and preparing records custodians.
• Collaborate with other departments and outside entities to gather evidence and records.
• Review records for redactions according to established guidelines and standards.
• Research and analyze legal sources to prepare legal documents under the direction of an attorney or paralegal supervisor.
• Complete e-filing of legal documents in local jurisdictions.
• Maintain litigation files and prepare materials for storage or disposal after case closure.
• Record and maintain attorney calendars, including court appearances and meetings.
• Prepare litigation materials, including trial exhibits and trial notebooks.
• Perform routine office duties such as photocopying, scanning documents, and preparing presentations.
