About The Position

The position involves preparing project planning that includes work scopes, responsible matrix, manhours, software requirements, and interface matrix. The candidate will prepare a Master Document List (MDL) for overall piping design related work scopes with forecast dates based on the Master Project Schedule. They will align piping design input data and need dates with respective stakeholders to define the piping design output forecast date. The role requires reviewing and monitoring the project budget related to piping, especially for manhour and software utilization, exotic and high-cost material purchases, and warehouse balance material utilization. The candidate will lead a group of piping engineers and designers for project execution or monitor the work executed by engineering design houses where applicable. Responsibilities also include reviewing and monitoring engineering design progress related to piping work scopes, preparing and raising technical queries (TQF) and engineering variation orders (EVO) related to piping for additional work scopes, and ensuring alignment of piping design outputs with the construction team. The candidate must understand department and project-specific design workflows, contract specifications, project requirement summaries, Class and Regulatory Requirements, and various piping specifications. They will also be responsible for ensuring that all works meet the scope and technical quality of the project and comply with project requirements.

Requirements

  • At least 8 years of piping engineering related working experience.
  • Experience in Offshore/Shipyard projects, Rig building/Ship building.
  • Experience in FPSO projects, both topsides and marine.
  • Good knowledge in Topside Piping Design and Planning.
  • Good knowledge in International Standards related to Piping such as ASME, ASTM, API.
  • Min. Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Good skill in Excel.
  • Experience with 2D applications such as AutoCAD.
  • Experience with 3D modeling applications such as Smart Plant, Aveva, Cadmatic.

  • Monitor 3D model clashes and design review comments.
  • Monitor comments from clients and classification societies.
  • Monitor piping procurement status and surplus material due to drawing revisions.
  • Ensure proper communication between piping stress team and pipe routine designers.
  • Review and comment on piping arrangement, isometric, and pipe support drawings.
  • Monitor compliance between piping construction drawings and the latest 3D model.
  • Interface with vendors and other discipline leads.
  • Provide support to piping construction, QA/QC, and other non-engineering activities.
