The position of Class A Delivery Driver is critical in the country's food supply chain, ensuring that customers' products arrive at their destination on time and in good condition while building lasting relationships with customers.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED or Equivalent.
  • 6+ months commercial driving experience.
  • Valid CDL-A.
  • Must be 21+ years of age.
  • Clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) for past 3 years.
  • Pass post offer drug test and criminal background check.
  • Pass road test.
  • Able to hand-lift and utilize two-wheeler, lift gate and/or other equipment to move and/or stack product cases/freight.

Nice To Haves

  • 1+ years foodservice distribution industry experience.
  • Onboard computer and electronic log system experience (i.e., PeopleNet).
  • Hand-held point of delivery scanning system experience (i.e., POD).
  • Customer service-related work experience.

Responsibilities

  • Drive a tractor trailer on intrastate and interstate local routes to deliver and unload food and food-related products.
  • Perform all required safety checks including inspections of tractor/truck and trailer according to DOT regulations.
  • Communicate and interact with customers, vendors, and co-workers professionally.
  • Follow all DOT regulations and company safe driving guidelines.
  • Inspect trailer for properly loaded and secured freight.
  • Perform count checks of items and check customer invoices.
  • Drive to and deliver customer orders according to predetermined route delivery schedule.
  • Unload products from the trailer and transport items into designated customer storage areas.
  • Verify delivery of items with customers and obtain proper signatures.
  • Complete daily record of hours of service and enter in log in accordance with Federal DOT, state, and company requirements.
  • Perform general housekeeping duties in tractor and loading dock area.
