About The Position

The TOP Advisor powers the potential of TRIO students at Oregon Tech by providing holistic and wrap-around advising support to a caseload of up to approximately 75 students.Additionally, the TOP Advisor teaches student success seminar classes, coordinates Tech Opportunities Program ( TOP ) events, and manages student peer mentor staff. Finally, the TOP Advisor collaborates cross-institutionally and community-wide with program stakeholders in referring program participants to services on an as-needed basis.

Nice To Haves

• Master’s degree in Education, Counseling, Public Health, Social Work, Psychology, Sociology. Student Affairs, or related area.
• Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, Student Affairs AND 5 years of experience in education or social services (or combined).
• Two years of experience advising/counseling college students.
• Experience working or participating in programs for historically excluded students such as TRIO
• Bi-lingual Spanish language fluency
